Italian-Style Turkey Meatballs

Ingredients
20 oz ground lean turkey
1 pack of beefy onion soup mix
1 onion
2 eggs
1 cup of Italian Bread crumbs
2 tbs of olive oil
1 cup of grated parmesan cheese
1 tbs of oregano
1 tbs of italian seasoning
1 tbs of garlic powder
1 tsp of cayenne pepper
1 tbs worcestershire sauce
1 tbs black pepper
1 tbs seasoned salt
28 oz of spaghetti sauce (See sweet basil and tomato sauce recipe)


Utensils
Baking Pan
Pot
Tongs
Skillet or frying pan

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees
  2. Finely chop onion
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine turkey meat, onion soup mix, chopped onion, bread crumbs, parmesan cheese, eggs, oregano, italian seasoning, garlic powder, black pepper, seasoned salt, and worcestershire sauce.
  4. Blend ingredients by hand and roll mixture into small balls
  5. Let balls rest for 10 minutes
  6. Heat 2 tbs of olive oil in large frying pan.
  7. Brown meatballs in skillet for 2-3 minutes on each side
  8. Place browned meatballs on baking sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes.
  9. Remove from oven and place in baking pan
  10. Cover meatballs in sauce and return to oven for 10-15 minutes
